Marketing Molecules Make Magic By Marsha Lindquist
Marketing Molecules get you business. That’s right. Everyone knows that to get business you’ve got to feed the pipeline with prospects who have the potential to become your clients. In order to feed that pipeline, you’ve got to stir the atmospheric pot. Here’s how it works and it’s just my theory.
When you get out of your comfy, cozy, and safe office and step out to do the marketing that you know you “should”, network, talk to clients, meet with colleagues and potential alliance partners on a regular basis, something interesting happens. You get business. Maybe it doesn’t happen right away. But it happens. And when it does, the more you market, the more business you have. I call it Marketing Molecules© It’s the inertia that you create when you bring interest to what you are doing. Now, you have to love what you do or the magic doesn’t happen. So, no faking it!
When you market your business on a steady basis, you will notice your level of business activity increase. You’ll get new business, but it doesn’t have any relation to the people you are talking to now. It was those people you talked to six or nine months ago. It does take time. You can’t expect to start stirring up the particles in your surroundings and BAM there is new business. There is a key to this phenomenon – you have to repeat this fun consistently.
But if you stop doing the marketing, the molecules stop heading in your direction. Let’s say you’ve got enough business to keep you in potato chips for a while so you start slacking off the marketing activity. Think of yourself as a magnet. If you turn off your electromagnetic field and make the atoms go somewhere else, guess what? They do. So you have to keep stirring. Remember, business is attracted to business that is making it happen. People want to deal with those people who have and exude energy. When you stir up the Marketing Molecules, you are attracting others to you.
Keep track of it yourself. Stir up the molecules in your marketing atmosphere and trail that comet. Don’t stop. When the business starts rolling in, trace when and where it came from. Only you can find out the formula that works for you and how long your Marketing Molecule© magic takes. For me it’s six months. If I have less business right now than I want, I can easily look back six months and see what I was doing and fix it. You can too. So go stir up those Marketing Molecules.
